My story
I've spent the last 15 years working in the financial help sector — talking to people about credit, mortgages, debt, tax and everything in between. In all those years, one thing struck me again and again: people don't struggle with money because they aren't smart. They struggle because financial information is so often confusing, jargon-heavy, or quietly tilted to serve someone else's commercial interest.
I started building little calculators for myself — quick tools to answer the questions I was being asked over and over. "What will my take-home pay actually be?" "How much stamp duty will I owe?" "If I overpay my mortgage by £100 a month, what does that save me?"
Friends started using them. Then their friends. Eventually it seemed silly not to put them all in one place and open them up to anyone who could use them. So that's what Accepted.co.uk is: every calculator and guide I've built, in one place, free for everyone — because I think everyone deserves clear, honest financial information regardless of their income or background.
Why this site is free
Accepted.co.uk is free to use and always will be. Like many independent websites, the site carries a small amount of carefully selected sponsored content and advertising to help cover running costs like hosting, development and keeping the calculators up to date. I never allow commercial relationships to influence the content, calculators or guides — everything you read here is written to help you, not to sell you something.
