This policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information when you use Accepted.co.uk.

1. Who we are

Accepted.co.uk ("we", "us", "our") is a website operated by CLB Estates Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. CLB Estates Limited is the data controller responsible for any personal information you provide through this site.

2. What information we collect

We collect personal information in the following ways:

  • Contact form submissions — when you send us a message we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), the subject of your enquiry and the contents of your message.
  • Email capture forms — if you ask us to email you the results of a calculator, we collect your email address along with the calculation inputs and results. We also record whether you have opted in to receive marketing emails from us.
  • Analytics data — we collect anonymised information about how you use the site (pages visited, device type, approximate location, referring source) through cookies and similar technologies.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • respond to enquiries you send via our contact form;
  • send you the calculation results you have requested — this is the only thing we use your email for unless you have actively opted in to marketing;
  • if you have opted in, send you occasional tips, guides and tools by email that we think you may find useful;
  • improve the content, calculators and overall experience of the site; and
  • understand how visitors find and use Accepted.co.uk through aggregated analytics.

We will never use your email address for marketing if you have not opted in. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

4. Legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries, run and improve the site, and understand how it is being used.
  • Consent — where you tick a box or otherwise opt in (for example, opting in to receive tips and updates when you request a calculation by email). You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation — where we are required to retain or disclose data by law.

5. How long we keep your data

We only keep your data for as long as it is needed:

  • Contact form data — retained for up to 2 years from the date of your last contact, then securely deleted.
  • Email capture data — retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
  • Analytics data — anonymised and retained for up to 26 months by our analytics provider.

6. We do not sell your data

We do not sell, rent or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes. Your data is only shared with the third party service providers listed in section 8 below, who process it on our behalf solely to enable us to run this site.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your personal data. To request deletion, email us at hello@accepted.co.uk with the subject line "Data deletion request".
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent — for example, by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Third party services

We rely on a small number of third party providers to operate the site:

  • Email service provider — used to deliver calculator results and respond to your enquiries.
  • Analytics provider — used to collect anonymised usage statistics about the site.
  • Hosting and infrastructure provider — used to serve the website.

Each provider acts as a data processor on our behalf and is contractually required to handle your data in line with UK GDPR. We do not permit them to use your data for their own purposes.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in the law or how we operate the site. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always show when it was last revised. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
